The story did end as anticipated, yet with a few twists to keep it interesting. However he is sooo protective of her that she barely is able to leave his side, but there is a reason for this behavior and when it all comes to light we love him even more. But the sheer volume of information on the subject can be overwhelming. More anecdotes would have been a plus. Elvis and Ireland focuses on how Irish artists used Elvis and American popular culture for their own artistic efforts, from Ireland’s earliest showbands and beat-groups to the rock legends Rory Gallagher, Phil Lynott and Bono. Even as he describes the horror he endured at the hands of the Japanese, he's almost apologetic to the reader. Well written and entertaining.
